Hello, hello, hello.
I apologize for my lack of writing lately - I normally have time to update my blog while at work, but work has been quite busy lately and I also have a pretty intense accelerated online class going on right now, so I haven't had much time to devote to blogging.

| but I have had time for shopping... |
Two Saturdays ago,
Leah mentioned that she was on her way back from a nearby photography gig as I happened to be on my way to the barn - which was conveniently located on her way home. I had borrowed her Majyk Equipe DSB's, and she hadn't met Spring yet, so naturally an impromptu blogger meet-up was a must! I got super lucky because Leah had her fancy-pants camera with her and took a bunch of awesome pictures (some of which you may have already seen if you follow me on Instagram).
 |
| must. work on. pointy toes. |
Spring brought her A-game, and we had one of our best flatwork rides to date - something that almost never happens when cameras are involved!
 |
| although there were a few moments like this... |
Leah captured all of our best moments and a few of our baby flails, and I am still completely thrilled that she was able to come hang out!
 |
| I almost never am smiling in riding pictures, so this one is extra awesome. |
Unfortunately, Leah had spent the day roasting at a Combined Training show, and wasn't dressed for riding, so she didn't end up getting to take Spring for a spin - although hopefully that will happen sometime in the near future.
Because she was such an awesome girl, I finished the ride by letting her play with ground poles - one of her favorite activities. She's quite...enthusiastic about them (when they're set up like a course and not like trot poles). Leah was able to get some pretty hysterical shots.

| note to self - flatten lower back |
Overall it was a super fun ride, and I got to show Leah around CEC afterwards, and we got to catch up on assorted items of gossip. I'm hoping that she'll be able to make it back sometime soon so that she can take Spring for a ride, and I'm also hoping to make it up to meet
HER BABY GOATS as soon as humanly possible because, um, baby goats are the best.
In other news, I have lightly lunged and ridden Leo since the last time I talked about him, and he continues to remain sound. He's also herd sour AF right now, but since I'm not ready to put him back into any serious amount of work ((he legit walks 1-1.5 miles a day going back and forth from my house to my neighbor's, and it's entirely over a bunch of pretty steep hills, so he's already kind of rehabbing himself)) I'm not too worried about it at this point in time.
I'm hopefully taking a lesson on Spring tomorrow night (we missed Monday because I had to pull one of her shoes, then she didn't get ridden in a lesson on Wednesday because she threw a shoe immediately after being reset on Tuesday, because OTTB), and this week's lesson theme is 'scary' jumps - so in theory I'll have a fun lesson recap coming up soon! (although I'm not sure if any moms will be around to photograph). Hope all is well with you guys!
Yas yas yas riding and baby goats! Ahhh you guys were so cute and I'm glad it worked out that I got to swing by and hang! :)
