Outside the Barn

I didn't go to the barn at all today.  I slept, cleaned, and then my dad got here.  We went and saw Pete's Dragon because when I was a kid it was one of the movies that we watched a lot, and then we went to dinner.  It was great, and tomorrow we are heading to the barn so that he can meet his grand-pony.  Since I have no new Leo pics or info, I figured I'd take this opportunity to introduce the creatures that I share my home with.

Lily

Lily has been with me for five years now.  I've had her since she was six weeks old, back when I was still in undergrad.  She moved with me when I left Indiana for grad school, she's moved around the new town in Missouri, and she is wonderful.  She hates outdoors, loves food (seriously have never met a more food-motivated animal in my entire life, except maybe the bf's beagle), loves being a silently judgemental creep, and may or may not kill us all in our sleep someday.  She also gives the best snuggles when she feels like it, and has adorable tiny white feets and big blue eyes.  She's a barn cat mutt that looks almost like a siamese.

Rosie

Rosie was my college graduation present.  She was around 7 weeks old when I got her in the summer of 2012, which means that she is now four (!!!!!!).  She's a giant sweetheart.  She was the first dog that I had ever owned (despite having fostered for some time after the move to MO), so we did a ton of training classes when she was a puppy, and she has her Canine Good Citizen.  She has gotten me through some pretty rough times.  I adore her.  She adores literally everyone, is an exceptional snuggler, and thinks that she is still a giant lap dog.

Piper

I don't have any good pictures of Piper the parakeet, but he's about two years old and is the most antisocial bird that I've ever met.  I originally had two parakeets but Peeps murdered the other one.  He tolerates me, pecks the shit out of everyone else, and spends most of his time singing to himself in his cage, where he seems to be the happiest.  He's a little curmudgeon.  A grouchy old man in a tiny young bird body.

Jasper

Jasper is my boyfriend's border collie mix.  He's somewhere between 8 and 11 years old.  He's exceptionally loyal, incredibly intelligent, obnoxiously barky (yes, barky is a word now), and very handsome.  He was a stray for years before ending up at the shelter that B got him from.  He's quite neurotic at times and can be very annoying when he starts literally dogging every step that you take, and can have dog-aggression issues at times, but he's a good dog.

Ford

Ford is my boyfriend's beagle.  He's a weird little dude.

B

photographic proof of his existence, blurred

picture that I could find
Last but not least is the boyfriend himself.  B and I met on Tinder in February of 2015, and officially started dating in March of that year. We moved in together in May of 2016, which led to an over-abundance of animals. He is a wonderful human, and tries his best to make it to every show, and has come out to the barn to meet Leo despite the fact that it's a fair drive from our house.  He is incredibly supportive of all things horsey and doesn't complain when I talk about the barn for hours at a time.  He's pretty great.
